How do I create a dial by name directory?
Create a dial by name directory to allow your callers to reach an extension without knowing it from memory.
Important: Please excuse our mess while we improve your admin experience! We are in the process of migrating all accounts to the new GoTo Admin. The article below is meant for admins who use PBX Administration (classic) at https://my.jive.com/pbx. If you're an admin who uses GoTo Admin at https://admin.goto.com, please refer to: How do I create a dial by name directory?
Your system comes ready with an internal directory (includes all extensions) that is assigned as the default directory. You can edit this directory or create a new default directory that internal users can access by dialing *11.
- Sign in to PBX Administration (classic) at https://my.jive.com/pbx.
- Select Dial By Name Directories in the left navigation menu and then select Add Dial by Name Directory.
- Enter a Name for the dial by name directory.
- Select and then choose the new dial by name directory to configure its settings.
Note: You can configure the settings to include all extensions, or select specific ones to be included or excluded in the directory.
What to do next: Configure the directory's settings and then record a dial by name directory name.
