Set the hold music for your system or extension
Assign a playlist for your whole system to provide consistency for all callers or change the hold music on an individual phone number, line, ring group, or call queue.
It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with your country's Digital Rights Management Laws when uploading copyrighted files.
GoTo Admin
If you're an admin who signs in at https://admin.goto.com, these steps are for you.
Before you begin: You must have an admin or super admin
role to perform this task.
Set the hold music system-wide
- Sign in to GoTo Admin.
- From , use the Hold playlist music drop-down menu to choose the desired playlist.
- Select Save when finished.
Set the hold music on a phone number, extension, or ring group
- Sign in to GoTo Admin.
- From
, select Phone numbers, Direct extensions, or Rings groups:
- For a phone number, select the desired phone number and then select .
- For a direct extension, select the desired direct extension and then select . Enable Custom Hold Music if you haven't already.
- For a ring group, select the desired ring group and then select . Enable Ringback if you haven't already.
- Select the desired Hold Music Playlist.
- Select Save when finished.
Set hold music on a call queue
- Sign in to GoTo Admin.
- From , select the desired call queue.
- From , enable Custom ringback music if you haven't already.
- Use the Custom ringback music playlist drop-down menu to select the desired playlist.
- Select Save when finished.
PBX Administration (classic)

Before you begin: You must have an admin or super admin
role to perform this task.
Set the hold music system-wide
- Sign in to PBX Administration (classic).
- From , select the desired Hold Music Playlist.
- Select Save.
Set the hold music on a phone number, extension, or ring group
- Sign in to PBX Administration (classic).
- From Phone Numbers, Lines, or Ring Groups in the left sidebar, select the phone number or extension that you need to change.
- For a phone number, select .
- For a line, select .
- For a ring group, select .
- Select the desired Hold Music Playlist.
- Select Save.
Set hold music on a call queue
- Sign in to PBX Administration (classic).
- From Call Queues and Contact Center, select the desired call queue.
- From , enable the Custom ringback music setting if you haven't already.
- Use the Custom ringback music playlist drop-down menu to select the desired playlist.
- Select Save.
