Attention: The join methods available to you are dependent on the type of webinar your host chose to use for your session. For example, webinars held on our classic platform require participants to download the desktop or mobile app to participate, a browser option is not available. Contact your host directly to learn what type of webinar they are using.
- Run a system check — It's possible that your computer does not meet the minimum requirements required to join a webinar. Get a quick rundown of any issues now by running our automatic system checker for organizers or attendees.
Important: The system checker is intended to check the basic compatibility of your operating system. It does not guarantee that you will be able to join a session as it cannot check for outages, sufficient internet speed, firewall blocks, etc.
- Check your firewall settings — Many people use personal firewall software like McAfee, Norton or Windows Firewall to block unwanted viruses. Since these programs work by blocking unknown applications from being downloaded onto your computer, it's possible that your firewall software is blocking the download of GoTo Webinar. Learn more.
- Use our mobile app — Download our mobile app for free to join instantly. You do not need an account with us to use this app. Learn how to join with this method here.
- Update your audio and video drivers (Windows only) — If you experience a long delay before joining into a session, please ensure your audio and video drivers are up to date. Then try re-joining the session. Check your computer manufacturer's site for help on how to update drivers.
- End any GoToMeeting processes running in the background (Windows only) — If the download started but then froze, try force-quitting any GoToMeeting processes running in the background that might be slowing the download.
- Uninstall and reinstall — If you've joined or hosted a session before, it's possible that the currently installed desktop app is causing conflict. Go through the steps for uninstalling, then try installing fresh.
- Install via MSI/DMG — You might have better luck installing via MSI rather than going through the automatic download. Even though MSI downloads are typically used only by IT Admins, it can also be used to install the software on your own computer.
- Reboot your computer — If all else fails, shut down and reboot your computer, then try joining again.
