Forward my calls
Forward all incoming calls to an internal extension or external phone number while you’re unavailable to ensure your callers can still speak with someone.
There are several ways to forward a call depending on if you want it to be a manual or automatic forward, a one-off forward or a continual forward.
Options | Description | Steps |
---|---|---|
Use star codes | Allows you to set up a forward manually on any device that will stay in effect until you have disabled it with the appropriate star code. This will override any call forwarding settings configured from the phone’s menu. Calls are still forwarded if the phone goes offline afterward. |
Note: If your system admin has enabled Block Caller ID on the phone number used by your line, your caller ID will remain blocked when forwarding to an external phone number.

Set up a personal dial plan | Allows you to set up an automatic forward on your line that is in effect anytime your line is dialed directly, a call is transferred to your line, or your line is used in a line & voicemail node. These settings are overridden on a per-call basis when your line is used in a simple dial node or another user’s Find Me/Follow Me ring step however. | See Set up a personalized dial plan on your line |
Set up a forward on a desk phone | Allows you to set up a forward manually on your desk phone that will stay in effect until you have disabled it. | Refer to your specific phone guide to learn how to forward calls on your desk phone. |
Switch your call to another device | Allows you to switch a call between supported devices on a per-call basis. | See Switch a call between devices |
Set up a forwarding dial plan | Allows you to set up an automatic forward for any calls to a phone number on your account that is routed to this dial plan, or for any calls transferred to this dial plan. | See How do I create a dial plan? or Route calls to a cell phone if you want the dial plan to go directly to an external number rather than elsewhere on your system. |
