Why am I hitting "Error 12029"?

If you're seeing an "Error 12029" message, there are a couple ways to troubleshoot.

Rule out the GoToWebinar app

  1. Uninstall the GoToWebinar desktop app and GoTo Opener.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Join or start the session with GoToWebinar .
  4. If you still see the error message, reset your browser (instructions below).

Reset your browser

  1. Click your Windows start menu and open the Control Panel.
  2. Click Internet Options.
  3. On the Advanced tab, click Reset.
  4. Open a new browser and join or start the GoToWebinar session.
  5. If you still see the error message, disable anti-virus if possible (instructions below).

Disable anti-virus

Note: If you do not have permissions to make the following changes, contact your IT admin.
  1. Check if your connection works with anti-virus disabled.
  2. If disabling your anti-virus does not help, review Optimal Firewall Configuration to check that the DNS addresses, IP ranges, and ports have been whitelisted.
