GoTo Attendee Guide

Learn how to use in-session controls on the GoTo app!

1Set up your audio

When you first join, you'll be prompted to choose which audio method and camera you'd like to use and how you'll appear in the meeting upon launch.

2Mute and unmute

Control your audio using the Mic icon at the bottom of your screen. The icon will glow white when you are unmuted and others can hear you. You can also switch between Computer and Phone audio by selecting the Settings icon > Audio tab.

Note: Users are muted by default when they first join unless chosen otherwise in the Camera preview screen. If you are muted, select the Mic icon to umute yourself.

3Share your camera

You can start and stop sharing your camera using the Camera icon in the control panel.

Note: If you want to preview your camera first, select the Settings icon > Camera tab. You will instantly see a preview of your camera feed.

Show All | Hide All

When multiple attendees are sharing their cameras, you can choose to see only the presenter's camera, the camera of person currently speaking, or no camera at all. Learn more.
If you have more than one camera device plugged in to your computer, you can select which device to use during the session. Learn more.

Share camera

4Share your screen

If the meeting organizer grants you presenter permissions, then you can share your screen or even a specific application with the other attendees in the meeting. Use the Share icon in the control panel to start and stop sharing your screen once you have presenter controls.

Note: You will not see the presenter controls unless you are made the presenter by an organizer or the current presenter. Once you are made presenter, the additional presenter controls will display on your screen.

Share your screen

5Chat with others

The Control Panel includes a Chat pane where you can exchange messages with other participants. You'll be notified if you receive a chat and your Chat pane is minimized. Use the Send To drop-down menu to select your recipients:

  • Everyone - Send a message to all meeting attendees.
  • Organizer(s) only - Send a message only to organizers and co-organizers.
  • Presenter only - Send a message only to the current presenter.
  • Specific attendee - Send a private message to just that person.

6Explore other tools

The GoTo app offers additional features and tools for you to use during you session, including raising your hand and changing your language during a session.

Raise your hand to grab the organizer's attention. Learn more.
You can change the display language at any time during a session. Learn more.
