How do I create an end-to-end encrypted session?
End-to-end encryption keeps your meeting private from those who don’t have the decryption key or password (including GoTo). While all sessions already encrypt media streams in transit, end-to-end encryption provides an additional form of encryption for an extra layer of security. If enabled, features that rely on an unencrypted media stream are disabled.
Before you begin:
- All participants must join from the GoTodesktop app or web browser.
- There is a limit of 4 participants per meeting.
- The following features are not accessible because they rely on unencrypted media streams.
- Password protection
- In-session chats
- Recording
- In-room link
- Phone audio mode (PSTN)
- From the GoTodesktop app or web browser, select + Create meeting
- Use the Create a meeting window to specify the details of your new meeting.
- Select More options, then enable End-to-end encryption.
- Select Start to begin your session.
