How do I create an end-to-end encrypted session?
When enabled, end-to-end encryption (E2EE) keeps your meeting private from those who don’t have the decryption key or password — including GoTo. While all sessions already encrypt media streams in transit, E2EE provides an additional form of encryption for an extra layer of security. If enabled, features that rely on an unencrypted media stream will be disabled.
Before you begin:
- All participants must join from the GoTo desktop app or web browser.
- There is a limit of 4 participants per meeting.
- The following features rely on unencrypted media streams and will not be accessible for E2EE sessions; password protection, in-session chats, recording, in-room link, and phone audio mode (PTSN).
- From the GoTo desktop app or web browser, select + Create meeting
- Use the Create a meeting window to specify the details of your new meeting.
- Select More options, then enable End-to-end encryption.
- Select Start to begin your session.
