Manage my contacts in the app

Add, update, or delete external contacts and control who shows up in your favorites.

Your internal directory is automatically added to GoTo. GoTo Connect has also revamped the contacts categories to become the following:
  • Company: Non-editable users added by your system admin.
  • Private: Editable contacts added by the individual user. Private contacts are only visible to the user who created the contact.
  • Shared: Editable contacts added by a user and are visible to all other users in the organization.
  • Local: Non-editable contacts retrieved from the user's mobile device, if permission was given by the user in the device's settings.

Desktop or web app

Attention: Contacts can now be imported to and managed in the GoTo Admin portal in addition to the apps. The PBX Administration (classic) Contacts experience is no longer supported and access will be discontinued shortly.
  1. Sign in to the desktop or web app.
  2. From the left navigation menu, select Contacts iconContacts and then choose what you want to do:
    Contact Management How-to
    To add a contact
    1. Select Add Contact Icon.
    2. Enter the new contact's information.
    3. Select Save.
    To add a shared contact
    1. Select + Create.
    2. Enable the check box next to Save as shared contact.
    3. Enter the new contact's information.
    4. Select Save.
    To favorite a contact
    1. Search for a contact's name, extension, or number.
    2. Choose a contact from the results.
    3. Select Favorite Icon. Select it again to remove the contact from your favorites.
    To edit a contact
    Note: You can only edit contacts you have added.
    1. Search for a contact's name, extension, or number.
    2. Choose a contact from the results.
    3. Select Edit contact.
    4. Make any necessary changes and then select Save changes.
    To delete a contact
    Note: You can only delete contacts you have added.
    1. Search for a contact's name, extension, or number.
    2. Choose a contact from the results.
    3. Select Edit contact.
    4. Select Delete contact in the bottom left.
    To import contacts Integrate with Outlook to import your Outlook contacts.
    To import shared contacts

    1. Select drop-down carrot icon next to + Create.
    2. Select Shared contacts from import.
    3. Follow the instructions provided and import the CSV. A template is available if needed.
    4. Select Import.
    Note: Contacts imported from CSV are automatically created as shared contacts.
    To create contact groups

    Create groups of shared contacts to easily organize and group specified customers.

    1. Select Contacts from the left navigation.
    2. Select + Create.
    3. Select Group.
    4. Enter a group name
    5. Choose how you would like to add your contacts:
      1. Import contacts via CSV
      2. Select existing shared contacts

Mobile app

  1. Sign in to the mobile app.
  2. Select Contacts and then choose what you want to do:

    1. Select Mobile Add Icon.
    2. Enter the new contact's information.
    3. Select Done.
    To add a shared contact
    1. Select Mobile Add Icon.
    2. Enable Save as a shared contact.
    3. Enter the new contact's information.
    4. Select Done.
    To favorite a contact
    Note: Local contacts cannot be favorited.
    1. Search for a contact's name, extension, or number.
    2. Choose a contact from the results.
    3. Select Favorite. Select again to remove the contact from your favorites.
    To edit a contact
    Note: You can only edit contacts you have added.
    1. Search for a contact's name, extension, or number.
    2. Choose a contact from the results.
    3. Select Edit.
    4. Make any necessary changes and then select Done.
    To view a shared contact's conversation history
    1. Search for a shared contact's name, extension or number.
    2. Choose a shared contact from the results.
    3. Select History.
    4. Historical conversations will appear. You can select open to view the read-only conversation.
    Note: The conversation history includes inbox interactions.
    To delete a contact
    Note: You can only delete contacts you have added.
    1. Search for a contact's name, extension, or number.
    2. Choose a contact from the results.
    3. Select Delete Contact.
    To block a contact
    1. Search for a contact's name, extension, or number.
    2. Choose a contact from the results.
    3. Select Block Contact and then select Block to confirm.
      Note: To unblock, select Mobile Settings Icon > Phone > Blocked Numbers, choose the contact, select Remove Block and then select Unblock to confirm.
    To import contacts Not available currently.
    To import shared contacts Not available currently.
