How do I change my webcam background?
For more privacy during trainings or for a more professional look, change your camera background using our built-in Virtual Background feature or the third-party ChromaCam option.
Use Virtual Background
Change your camera background with one provided in the GoTo app or using a custom one. You can select a virtual background before joining a session or after you've already joined.
System | Minimum requirements |
---|---|
Operating system | Windows 10 or newer macOS Catalina 10.15 or newer |
Processor | 2.5 GHz 2+ core CPU (Intel Core I, Athlon, or Ryzen series) |
GPU | Integrated 2015 or newer Discrete 2012 or newer |
Note: You can upload and store up to 10 PNG, JPG, and JPEG files. There is no size limitation, but we recommend resizing the image to the aspect ratio of your camera. If you aren't sure what the aspect ratio is, upload an image with a minimum resolution of 1280x720 pixels (720p).
Use ChromaCam
You can customize, replace, or blur your webcam background with ChromaCam, a free third-party service.
Before you begin:
If you have not downloaded ChromaCam yet, visit ChromaCam's download page. If you have a paid GoTo Training account, you can use your GoTo Training credentials to download ChromaCam Pro for free. Otherwise, you will download ChromaCam Lite.
Notice: This article addresses the new GoTo app experience. View How do I change my webcam background using ChromaCam in GoTo Training? (Classic) for the classic experience.
We recommend testing your camera before the session to choose your preferred background or filter.
