Why can't I access the microphone, share my camera, or share my screen?

    If you can't access your microphone, share your camera, or share your screen, you may not have granted GoTo Meeting permissions to do so.

    Choose the device you're on.

    I'm on a Windows computer.

    1. Select the Windows menu > Settings > Privacy to open your Privacy preferences.
    2. Select Camera in the left toolbar (under "App permissions").
    3. Use the Allow apps to access your camera toggle switch to enable access to your camera.
    4. Scroll down and use the Allow desktop apps to access your camera toggle switch to enable GoTo or GoTo Meeting access to your camera.
    5. Select Microphone in the left toolbar (under "App permissions").
    6. Use the toggle switch to enable access to your microphone.
    7. Scroll down and use the Allow desktop apps to access your camera toggle switch to enable GoTo or GoTo Meeting access to your microphone.Windows Privacy Settings
    Results: The next time you join or host a session, you will be able to connect to your computer audio, share your camera, and screen share.

    I'm on a Mac computer.

    Attention: There is a known issue for Google Chrome users! If you cannot share your screen, view the troubleshooting note.
    1. Select the Apple menu Apple Icon > System Preferences to open your Mac Security & Privacy preferences.
    2. Select the Privacy tab.
    3. Select the Lock icon and enter your Mac credentials to make changes to your preferences.
    4. Select Microphone in the left menu and enable GoTo Meeting or GoTo if using the desktop app and/or the browser if using the web.

    5. Select Camera in the left menu and enable GoTo Meeting or GoTo if using the desktop app and/or the browser if using the web.

      Troubleshooting: If GoTo Meeting or GoTo is not listed under Camera, open your GoTo Meeting preferences and select the Webcam tab. You'll be prompted to allow "GoTo Meeting.app" access to the camera.

    6. Select Screen Recording in the left menu and enable GoTo Meeting or GoTo if using the desktop app and/or the browser if using the web.

      Troubleshooting: If you are using Google Chrome and still cannot share your screen, update to the latest Chrome version and disable then enable Google Chrome again for Screen Recording.

    Results: The next time you join or host a session, you will be able to connect to your computer audio, share your camera, and screen share.
    Attention: You may need to restart your browser or the desktop app for the permissions to take effect.
