How do I create a poll?

You can create up to 20 polls before the webinar starts or during the webinar on-the-fly. After you close a poll, you can choose to show the results to your attendees immediately or later.

Once polls are created, you can launch them during the webinar and share results with attendees afterwards.

Create polls before a webinar

  1. Sign in to your account at https://dashboard.gotowebinar.com.
  2. From the Dashboard, either create a new webinar or open an existing one.
  3. Under Engage Your Attendees, click + Poll to start adding or editing questions.
  4. On the Poll page, choose the type of poll you'll like to create:

    • Multiple choice with one answer
    • Multiple choice with multiple answers

  5. Type in your question in the Add Question field.
  6. Depending on your poll type, enter the answer(s) in the Option field.
  7. Click Save poll once the poll is done.

Create or edit polls during a webinar

  1. Expand the Polls pane in your Control Panel and click Manage Polls. Your screen will automatically pause screen sharing.
  2. In the browser, sign in to your account if prompted. You'll be taken to the Manage Polls page where you can create new polls.
  3. After creating a new poll or editing an existing one, click Save Poll.

    Note: You may need to log out of your account to see the new or updated polls in the Polls pane.

  4. Return to the webinar and resume screen sharing.
  5. To launch the newly added poll, select it in the drop-down menu and click Launch. Screen Sharing will be temporarily paused while the poll is in progress.
  6. Once everyone has voted, click Close.
  7. To show the results to everyone, click Share. To resume the webinar, click Hide.

Manage polls in the dashboard

  1. Sign in to your account at https://dashboard.gotowebinar.com.
  2. From the Dashboard, either create a new webinar or open an existing one.
  3. Under Engage Your Attendees, click Edit Poll(s).

    • To create another poll for the session, click + Add New Poll.
    • To edit an existing poll, click the Options icon next to the desired poll and then Edit Poll.
    • To change the order of the polls, click the Options icon next to the desired poll and then click Move question down.
    • To delete a poll, click the Options icon next to the desired poll and then click Remove Poll.
    • To view poll results, create an Attendee Report after the session ends.
