How do I test my mic and speakers from the desktop app? (Classic)

    You can test your computer mic and speakers from the desktop app to make sure your audio is connected!

    Test my audio before the training

    1. Ensure that Computer audio is selected. If needed, you can click Choose and audio option at the top-left to go back. If you wish to dial in using your telephone, see Connect to Audio using your Telephone.
    2. In the Computer Audio section, you will see separate icons for your microphone and speakers . Next to each one is a volume meter that shows you whether your microphone is picking up sound and your speakers are emitting audio.
    3. Test your microphone by speaking into it. If the volume meter next to the Mic icon does not show any green bars, then it is not properly picking up sound.

      • Use the drop-down menu to select a different microphone.
      • If you do not see the microphone device that you are trying to use, then try unplugging it and then plugging it back in.

    4. Test your speakers by listening for audio. If the volume meter next to the Speakers icon does not show any green bars, then it is not properly emitting any sound.

      • Use the drop-down menu to select a different microphone.
      • If you do not see the speaker device that you are trying to use, then try unplugging it and then plugging it back in.

    5. If you see green bars but do not hear any noise, try turning up the volume of your speakers.

    Test my audio during the training

    1. Expand the Audio pane.
    2. Ensure that Mic & Speakers is selected. If you wish to dial in using your telephone, see Connect to Audio using your Telephone.
