How do I manage unidentified callers? (Classic)

An "unidentified caller" is an attendee who dials in to the meeting without entering the Audio PIN. They're named "Caller X" in the Attendee list because GoTo Meeting has no way to identify them by name.

Organizers can rename, mute and unmute, and dismiss unidentified callers from the meeting.

Attention: We have a new GoTo app! This article covers the classic GoTo Meeting experience. View How do I manage unidentified callers? for the new GoTo.
Important: This feature must be enabled by an admin. If you notice an unidentified caller but don't see them in the Attendee list, please reach out to your account admin.

Unidentified callers do not appear in Meeting History reports.

    Rename an unidentified caller

Once the caller has verbally identified themselves, you can rename their entry in the People pane.
    1. In the People pane, right-click or click the Arrow icon by the unidentified caller's name.
    2. Click Edit name.
    3. Enter a name for the caller, then click OK.

    Mute/unmute an unidentified caller

    1. In the People pane, right-click or click the Arrow icon by the unidentified caller's name.
    2. Click Mute < caller name >.
    3. To unmute, click Unmute < caller name >.

    Dismiss an unidentified caller

You can excuse the caller from the session at any time. Note that if they also joined the screen sharing portion of the meeting from a computer, you will need to dismiss both of their entries in the Attendees list.
    1. In the People pane, right-click or click the Arrow icon by the unidentified caller's name.
    2. Click Dismiss < caller name >.
