Windows device management
GoTo Resolve MDM supports the management of devices running Windows 10 or 11, or a 64-bit version of Windows 7 / 8. The supported versions are Windows 7 SP1 and above and Windows 8.1 or newer. GoTo Resolve MDM does not support pre-release or beta versions of Windows.
In a technical sense, GoTo Resolve MDM supports two management methods for Windows devices.
- Management through the Miradore Client software (also referred as to Light)
- Management through Miradore Client & MDM profile work account (also referred as to Full)
Windows 7 and 8 computers should be managed in the Light mode, because they don't support the MDM work account. This also means that some GoTo Resolve MDM features are not available for Windows 7 & 8 computers. See the table below for details.
Supported features by Windows management method
Feature / Management method | Light | Full |
---|---|---|
Windows 7 & 8 support | Yes | - |
Windows 10/11 support | Yes | Yes |

Software inventory | - | Yes |
Remote actions: wipe and reboot | - | Yes |

There are some limitations. Software deployment, software inventory, and remote reboot are not supported on devices running Windows 10/11 Home.
Enrollment instructions
You can find step-by-step instructions for enrolling Windows-based devices here:
Miradore Client is pushed to Windows 10/11 devices automatically
Miradore Client for Windows doesn't support 32-bit versions of Windows, but you can manage devices with 32-bit Windows 10/11 using the MDM work profile.
If the Miradore client installation fails on a Windows device, GoTo Resolve MDM will retry the client installation five times with an interval of three hours. If the installation fails five times GoTo Resolve MDM stops retrying the client deployment.
Administrators can reset the retry counter from GoTo Resolve MDM using the Actions > Retry client installation button that can be found on the Device page. After this, GoTo Resolve MDM will re-try the client installation again five times.
There are several reasons which can cause the client installation to fail. You can try to investigate the reason from the Device's Action log which shows the reason in the tooltip.
