Renewing an Apple Push Certificate
The Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) certificate is used to establish a trusted connection between an MDM server, Apple services, and managed devices.
The APNs certificate is crucial to managing Apple devices with GoTo Resolve MDM. See Apple Push Certificate for more information on the APNs certificate.
Why do I have to renew my Apple Push Certificate?
Your APNs certificate must be renewed once a year in order to retain the MDM communication with your managed Apple devices. Without an active certificate, you cannot enroll or manage your Apple devices.
How to identify the correct Apple Push Certificate?
If you have more than one APNs certificate created in the Apple Push Certificates Portal, ensure that you are renewing the correct one.

Troubleshooting
- Use the same Apple ID that was used to create the certificate to be renewed to log in to the Apple Push Certificates Portal.
- Compare the certificate's serial number in GoTo Resolve MDM to the certificate's serial number in the Apple Push Certificate Portal to confirm that you are trying to renew the correct certificate.
- Upload the same csr.txt file that was downloaded from GoTo Resolve MDM to the Apple Push Certificates Portal.
If you cannot find the correct certificate in the Apple Push Certificates Portal or the certificate renewal fails for some other reason (for example, the Apple ID that was used to create the certificate is not known), contact our support team for assistance or reach out to Apple.
If your problem cannot be solved, you must create a new APNs certificate and re-enroll your devices to Miradore using the new certificate. For detailed instructions on how to do this, see Creating an Apple Push Certificate.
