Why am I hitting "Error 12157' or "Error 12029"?

If you're seeing either of these error messages, there is an issue arising when launching the GoTo Opener. Here are a couple ways to troubleshoot.

  1. Select your Windows start menu and open the Control Panel.
  2. From Internet Options > Advanced, scroll down to the bottom to check the TLS settings.
  3. Verify that TLS 1.2 is enabled.
  4. Select Apply if any changes were made.

Disable anti-virus

Note: If you do not have permissions to make the following changes, contact your IT admin.
  1. Check if your connection works with anti-virus disabled.
  2. If disabling your anti-virus does not help, review Optimal Firewall Configuration to check that the DNS addresses, IP ranges, and ports have been allowlisted.
