Steps for Installing on Windows
Installing the full-featured GoToTraining desktop app onto your computer allows you to get the most out of your session. Note that when you start or join a training,, the GoTo Training software download will begin automatically.

About the installation package
Once the desktop app is installed, you will be able to join and start future trainings more quickly by avoiding the extended download process. When you install
GoTo Training, you will download 2 parts of the software to your computer.
- GoTo Training desktop app – This is the main software that you use to join and start trainings.
- GoTo Opener – This is the "helper" application that launches you into active trainings.
Download the desktop app
- If the GoTo Opener application is not already installed, then the GoTo Training Opener.exe file will automatically begin downloading. Depending on which web browser you are running, you can complete the download as follows:
- Mozilla Firefox — Click Save File when prompted by Opening Opener (click restart the download in the browser window if needed. Then click the Downloads button in the toolbar, select GoTo Training Opener.exe, and click Run if prompted.
- Google Chrome — When the download finishes, click GoToTraining Opener.exe at the bottom of the page to open the file (click restart the download in the browse if needed). Click Run if prompted.
- Mozilla Firefox — Click Save File when prompted by Opening Opener (click restart the download in the browser window if needed. Then click the Downloads button in the toolbar, select GoTo Training Opener.exe, and click Run if prompted.
- Once the download is done, you will be able to join future trainings even faster! See Run the desktop app once installed for more information about joining future trainings.
Note: If you remove the GoTo Opener application at a later time, you'll need to go through the entire download process again. We don’t recommend that you do this if you frequently join sessions as you will lose the benefit of faster join times.
Run the desktop app once installed
Once the GoTo Opener application has been installed, you will not need to download it again (unless they remove it). The next time you start or join a training, you'll be prompted with additional dialogs from the web browser requesting permission to start the GoTo Opener and/or GoTo Training application on your behalf.
Launch the application:
- Mozilla Firefox — If you are running Firefox, you may be prompted to choose an application to use (either GoTo Opener application or the GoTo Training application). Check the Remember my choice for GoTo Opener links box to avoid being prompted by Launch Application when joining future sessions. Click OK to continue.
- Google Chrome — If you are running Chrome, it may request your permission to open an external application (i.e., the GoTo Opener application or the GoTo Training desktop application) by prompted you with an External Protocol Request. Check the Remember my choice for GoTo Opener links box to avoid being prompted by the dialog again when joining future sessions. Click Open GoTo Opener to continue.
