Error: Couldn't set up your device. For help, contact your IT admin.
Sometimes we see that Fully managed QR-code enrollment fails with an error Couldn't set up your device. For help, contact your IT admin.
In order to fix this error, please see the following steps.
Go to your GoTo Resolve MDM site's Enrollment > Android Enterprise section and check the next values:
A) If the there are values set for the "Enrollment Wi-Fi network" and "Enrollment Wi-Fi password" fields:
-
- Check if this information, e.g. password, matches your current Wi-Fi or remove it. We have seen cases where devices have issues processing this information even if it is entered correctly.
- Then, retry the enrollment — you will be prompted to enter the Wi-Fi network details manually into the device directly if you have removed the enrollment Wi-Fi from your Android Enterprise settings.
Note: If the enrollment still fails with the same error message, there is an issue with the Wi-Fi network blocking the communications. In that case, please try an unrestricted network instead, such as a mobile hotspot.
B) If you have checked the option "Use mobile data for enrollment":
-
- Check that you have an active SIM card installed in the device, since this removes the "Enrollment Wi-Fi network" and "Enrollment Wi-Fi password" values.
- If not, please uncheck the use mobile data option and try the enrollment again with the enrollment Wi-Fi option.
