How do I integrate GoTo Meeting with HipChat?

GoTo Meeting for Atlassian’s Hipchat allows you to add GoTo Meeting to all Hipchat rooms, or any room that you created so that anyone in the room can join your meeting by simply clicking on the meeting link.

If you already have a GoTo Meeting account, a welcome post allows you to link your account to HipChat and then you’re ready to go. By simply typing /meet, you can initiate a meeting. If you have set up your personal meeting space (https://gotomeet.me/< your-meeting-name-here >), then each time you launch a meeting, it will use your personal meeting space. Otherwise, it generates a one-time meeting. If other room members want to launch meetings, they can use the Welcome message link to connect their GoTo Meeting account with the particular Hipchat room and launch their own meetings from the room.

Install the GoTo Meeting Integration

Log into Hipchat.
From the HipChat Marketplace, select the GoTo Meeting for HipChat tile.
Select Add Integration
You can choose the rooms you want to add GoTo Meeting to. The drop down list includes only those rooms you created. Select your new room and then select Continue.
Result: A message displays informing you about the integration. Select Approve.
From the welcome message, select Link your GoTo Meeting account.
Depending on whether you are already logged into GoTo Meeting on your current computer or device, you may be taken through the sign-in seps or asked to allow the HipChat integration access to your account first before you see the success page.

Meet in HipChat

Type /meet into your chat feed and press Enter.
Result: If you are signed in and have a personal meeting space set up, GoTo Meeting will create a link to launch a meeting in that space. If you are signed in and do not have a personal space, GoTo Meeting will create a link to a one-time meeting.
Select the meeting link to start the meeting.
Other room members will also see the meeting link and can select the link to join the meeting.

Sign-in to GoTo Meeting in HipChat

Verify that you are signed in to GoTo Meeting in HipChat when you use it. If you are not signed in, and you enter /meet in your chat feed, you will be asked to link to your account. Select the Link request.

Fastpath: You can also select the GoTo Meeting button in the HipChat sidebar to make sure you are signed into your GoTo Meeting account.

Result: HipChat will automatically sign you back into your GoTo Meeting account.
