View the Bitlocker disk encryption status of your Windows computers

The Miradore client collects inventory information on the BitLocker drive encryption status from the Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11 devices that you have enrolled in LogMeIn Resolve MDM. Additionally, the BitLocker recovery key is stored on the device's page for easy retrieval if LogMeIn Resolve MDM is used to encrypt the device.

Check the encryption status of a device

  1. Navigate to Management > Devices and open the device's page by double-clicking the device entry's row in the table.
  2. Check the Encrypted row of the Security table on the Main tab.
The Encrypted row shows one of the following statuses:
    Yes
All of the device's disk drives are encrypted.
    No
None of the device's disk drives are encrypted.
    Partially
Some of the device's disk drives are encrypted.

Check your devices' BitLocker usage on the Dashboard

When you create a LogMeIn Resolve MDM site, LogMeIn Resolve MDM automatically creates a Windows dashboard with useful charts about your devices' information.

To view the BitLocker encryption-related charts, do the following:

  1. Navigate to Home > Dashboard.
  2. Click Select dashboard in the top-left corner and select Windows from the drop-down menu.
The following charts are available by default:
    • (C:) BitLocker encryption status shows how many of your Windows computers' C: drives have BitLocker encryption enabled and disabled. The status can be one of the following:
      Enabled
BitLocker encryption is enabled on the C: drive.
      Disabled
BitLocker encryption is disabled on the C: drive.
      Unknown
The inventory information of the device is unavailable.
    • BitLocker encryption status, local drives shows the number of local drives of your Windows computers that have BitLocker encryption enabled and disabled. The status can be one of the following:
      Enabled
BitLocker encryption is enabled on multiple local drives.
      Disabled
BitLocker encryption is disabled on multiple local drives.
      Unknown
The inventory information of the device is unavailable.
    • (C:) BitLocker encryption method shows the encryption method used to encrypt the C: drive. Apart from the type of encryption method used, the method can be one of following:
      Not encrypted
The C: drive is not encrypted.
      Unknown
The inventory information of the device is unavailable.
  3. To see a list view of the devices included in the chart, hover over the chart and select Show report.

You can create custom reports to display information about BitLocker usage on your Dashboard. For detailed information on creating custom reports, see Create custom reports.
