Why was I launched into session with the Instant Join app?

The GoToWebinar Instant Join app helps make sure that all users can get into session quickly and easily. If you were launched into session using your web browser instead of the desktop software, there are a couple of things that might have happened:

  • You're joining a Webcast or Recorded webinar. If the organizer scheduled a Webcast or Recorded webinar, attendees on a computer will automatically be taken to the browser-based Instant Join app.
  • Your computer does not meet the desktop app's system requirements. If you are running Linux, Google Chrome OS, or an older version of Mac OS X, then your computer does not meet the system requirements for . But don't worry – we've got you covered! The Web App is perfect for these unsupported operating systems because it make sure that you can still join in the fun!
  • You had an issue with the desktop app download. If GoToWebinar detects that you've had trouble installing the desktop app, it will automatically launch you into session using the browser-based Instant Join app instead. We're here to make sure that you don't miss a thing!
