How to Work with Logs in Remote Execution

Logs provide you additional details on what happened while running a job.

You have two options to view logs: either get a quick view of the individual steps in plain text, or download detailed results in an Excel sheet.
Tip: Having trouble connecting to a device? Looking for GoTo application logs? See Where do I Find GoTo Resolve Application Logs?
Important: To use this feature, the user must be authenticated with zero trust authentication, which serves the security of the session. Authentication is required only once when you run a Remote Execution step.

How to get a quick view of steps

Here's how to get a plain text log about a step:
  1. On the Remote Execution page, select a job, or create and run a new one.
  2. On the Summary page, select a device and click the View logs icon in the Logs column.
  3. You have the following options:
    • Select the individual steps to view the relevant log
    • Click Download combined logs to download logs in plain text format.
Note: Not all steps generate logs.
