Explore the softphone in the GoTo app
- Dock/undock: Separate the softphone into it's own window, add it back into the main app, or pop out a sidecar for quick dialing and access to contacts. You can also drag and drop the window to resize as desired, or to add it back into the main GoTo app.
- Your docked mode selection will be saved per device. If you sign in from another machine or a new browser, you will need to select your preference again. Due to technical limitations with Firefox, users logged in via Firefox will not have the option to pop out or dock the softphone, they will be forced into docked mode.
- Settings: Open the available settings, and hide them when ready.
- Search bar: As needed, search through and select from your contacts to initiate a call or use the keypad to enter a number and make a call.
- Outbound caller ID: Switch the line you use for making outbound calls.
- Audio options: Choose your default Microphone, Speaker, and Ringer.
- Phone window: Enable this setting if you want the softphone to stay on top of other windows.
- This setting is only available when using the desktop app.
- Mute/unmute: Mute and unmute yourself.
- Transfer: Transfer the call to another person.
- If you need to switch your call to another device instead, learn how to use call flip to move a call between multiple devices assigned to a single user.
- Dialpad: Select options in auto-attendants or other various tasks.
- Add calls: Add an additional participant into your active call to create a 3-way conference call.
- Hold/unhold: Place the active call on hold when needed, press again to resume the call.
- Park calls: Move an active call to a virtual parking space for another user on your account to pick up. .
- End call: Hang up your active call.
You can also use this softphone as a contact center agent! All familiar call functions from the previous softphone such as linking a contact to a call, adding notes, reviewing contact history, identifying call outcome by call dispositions, and adding sound clips are available in this new version. To access these call functions, simply drag the side of the softphone to expand it and expose the sidecar. You can also select the icon to expose the sidecar during your call and then select
icon as needed to hide the sidecar.
