Review a list of frequently asked questions about OpenVoice's Call Recording feature.
Is there a separate charge for listening to recordings?
All recordings are created in MP3 format and can be stored up to 12 months. This .mp3 file can be played over the web by logging into your OpenVoice account and clicking the Play button. You can also download and store the recorded meeting file on your computer or network storage for future use. There is no additional charge for this service
Is there a charge for storing the call recordings on the www.openvoice.com website?
No, there is no charge for this service.
In what format is the recording saved?
The recording is saved in MP3 format and can be downloaded to your computer.
For what duration of time are call recordings stored online?
The recording will be stored in your OpenVoice account up to the maximum period of 365 days (12 months).
What is the maximum length of a recorded call?
The system can record up to 4 hours of a conference call, even if the recording isn't continuous. The organizer can stop/start a recording multiple times during a conference call during the 4 hour period and still generate 1 recording file. However, after that period, the recording can be immediately restarted for calls lasting longer than 4 hours. In a case like this, the organizer will get 2 .mp3 files.
How long after a conference call is the recording file made available?
Recordings are available approximately 30 minutes after the close of a call. However, longer recordings may take additional time.
Can the organizer assign names or titles to recordings through the organizer web app?
Yes, you can add Notes to describe the content of your recording. Please remember that the name of the recording must be less than or equal to a 100 characters. Click on the Note icon to open the Edit Note window and enter a name for your recording. To view the note, you need to hover over the Note icon.
How do I download a recorded conference?
As an organizer, you will find all your recorded conferences stored in the Recordings page.
To download a recording:
1. Log in to your OpenVoice account.
2. In the left navigation, click Recordings.
3. Right-click on the recording date link of the recording you want to download.
4. Click Save to save the recording to your computer.
To play the recording on your computer use a media player that supports the .mp3 audio format.
