Manage default meeting settings

Organizers can change various settings that affect the way sessions are scheduled and run. These settings will apply to all future sessions. Any currently scheduled sessions would need to be updated manually as needed.

Attention: The navigation has been improved, but the settings shown in this video are the same.
  1. Sign in to the GoTo web or desktop app.
  2. Select your profile icon and then select Settings > Meetings > to see and manage all available meeting settings (in the Capabilities category). Any changes made will be auto-saved.
  3. From General, you can;
    • Set an organizer pin for use with starting meetings (Needed for hosting audio only sessions)
      Important: Once a PIN is set, it can't be disabled.
    • Customize the join experience relating to your camera and mic preferences, including the option to skip the preview window

    Troubleshooting: The following situations will not honor your account setting for the camera and mic preferences and instead will require you to see the preview and make your selections before joining:

    • The session requires a password or is end-to-end encrypted.
    • The session has not started yet. You will see "Waiting for organizer" in the meantime.
    • The session is full. You can wait for an attendee to leave or contact the meeting organizer.
    • The session has been locked by the organizer. You can wait for the organizer to unlock the meeting.
    • The session only supports phone audio or there are no audio devices connected.
    • You joined a previous meeting using phone or custom audio.
    • Device permissions are not granted or previously selected devices are not detected/available anymore.

  4. From Attendee options, you can;
    • Select your default audio preferences (built-in options or custom audio service), including any long-distance or toll numbers you'd like to offer
      Note: Phone numbers and Call Me are not available on the Free plan. See Available audio modes for more information.
    • Give attendees full access to screen sharing (this means they can immediately share their screen without asking for permission)
  5. From Content, you can select the desired location for recordings (locally on your computer or in the cloud). If the cloud is selected, additional options such as the sharing or transcribing of your meeting are available for customization.
