Use InRoom Link

InRoom Link allows cloud collaboration through computers, mobile devices, and SIP conference room systems. By default, InRoom Link for Video Conference Endpoints is enabled for GoTo Meeting Plus and 100 accounts.

Enable InRoom Link

  1. Sign in at https://admin.logmeininc.com.
  2. From Admin Settings > GoTo Meeting > InRoom Link for Video Conference Endpoints, select Edit.
  3. Select Enabled to allow the feature to be used by your organizers. The following are the supported devices:
    • Polycom — Group Series 300, 500 and 700 and HDX Series 7000, 8000 and 9000
    • Lifesize — Express Series 220 and Icon Series 400
    • Cisco — SX20
    • Alternatives — Our customers have reported successful meetings from the following systems though they are not officially supported by InRoom Link:
      • Aver EVC 300
      • Cisco DX80, SX10, SX80, C20 and C40
      • LifeSize Icon Series 600 and 800
      • Tandberg 880 MXP
      • Sony PCSA-MCG80
What to do next: Your video conference endpoint can join any GoTo Meeting session as an attendee now! When organizers schedule meetings, the invite will include join and dial-in instructions for video conference endpoints.

Schedule a meeting with InRoom Link

If InRoom Link for video conference endpoint support is enabled for an account, organizers will see the instructions for video conference room systems in the invites generated for their meetings.

Video conference room systems cannot join meetings that are password protected. If a meeting was scheduled before InRoom Link was enabled, the generated meeting invite will not include the join instructions for the video-conferencing room or system. You can generate a new invite for an existing meeting in order to get the InRoom Link join information.
  1. Log in at https://global.GoTo Meeting.com.
  2. From My Meetings, locate the desired meeting and then select the Invite icon.
  3. Select the join method(s) you want to offer attendees:
    • Select Send the invites as is to enable any invitee to use InRoom Link to attend the meeting
    • Select Send the invites to selected attendees and delete the InRoom Link join information for all other attendees (for instance, if only certain individuals can use the meeting room system)
    • Select Delete the video conferencing option from all invites before sending
  4. Copy and paste the information into your invite emails and resend as needed.
What to do next: Make sure your attendees know how to join. See Join a meeting as an InRoom Link attendee.

Set up video conferencing system for InRoom Link

If your system has not been set up to make external calls (calls outside your company intranet) that are required for GoTo Meeting, you will need to configure your system. However, if you already have video conference systems installed, you may not need to do any additional configuration.

  1. Configure device to allow SIP calls.
  2. Configure your corporate firewall to enable send ports:
    • 1720 TCP
    • 3000-4000 TCP
    • 3000-4000 UDP
    • SIP 5060
    • SIP 5061

Diagnose InRoom Link issues

Use Poly RealPresence Desktop (a virtual video conference room application) and Wireshark (a network diagnostics tool) to identify where connections are failing.

Before you begin: Verify your system is powered on, connected to the right network, set up per manufacturer’s instructions, and that any control devices are also on and properly connected.
Download and install the following tools to a computer or laptop with network access to your video-conference system.
  • Wireshark — A free network protocol analyzer that tracks and records network packets. The GoTo Meeting support team uses Wireshark to identify join problems on conference room systems. To download the latest version, go to the Wireshark site.
  • Poly RealPresence Desktop — A virtual conference room system that enables you to test meeting join events. You can get a 30-day trial version to debug problems.

FAQs

Question Answer
Why is there audio echo or feedback? Try disconnecting all but one device in a conference room(e.g., if there are two attendees joined from their laptops in the conference room in addition to the system attendee, disconnect the audio of the system attendee and one of the laptops).
Why is the call disconnecting or blocking meeting content (usually inbound media)?

Verify the system configuration is correct. Some firewalls have very low idle timeouts.

Remove the configuration and connect directly to InRoom Link using the join string in the meeting invite as there may be misconfigured outbound proxies (or gatekeeper). Do not configure the device to use the InRoom Link server address as the default device proxy or gatekeeper.

Why can't I join from a Sony PCSA-MCG80? When entering your join string (GoTo Meeting video conferencing server##meeting ID string), remove one of the # character (e.g., 999.999.999.999#111222333) and rejoin the session.
Why can't I establish a call? Ensure that you have configured your SIP device with the TCP Transport Protocol.
Why is my video quality poor? Ensure that the system is configured with an appropriate call rate (1024 or higher). If you have access to the system's administration page, monitor the statistics during a call.
How can I improve my join experience? There a couple ways you can improve your join experience:
  • Use the "inroomlink.goto.com" domain: Join by entering the "inroomlink.goto.com" domain name. This requires an IT admin configuration.
  • Use the IP address: Enter the 67.217.95.2 IP address.
  • Speed dial in with domain or IP address: Save the "inroomlink.goto.com" domain name or 67.217.95.2 IP address as a contact to speed dial in for future sessions.
