Directing a phone number tells the system where to route callers who dial that phone number—it’s like adding an address to an envelope. Phone numbers can be directed to any type of extension on the system including lines, ring groups, conference bridges, call queues, dial plans, shared voicemail boxes, and virtual fax machines. Additionally, phone numbers can be routed to other phone numbers on the system, which is helpful if all phone numbers need to arrive at the same endpoint, like a call center.
1. Log in at my.jive.com/PBX.
2. Click Phone Numbers in the left sidebar and then click the phone number that needs to be directed..
- You can also click to the edit icon to reroute the phone number in-line.
3. From the General tab > Behavior section, choose Extension or Another phone number on this system and then select the desired destination.
4. Click [SAVE].
