How do I add a new device to an existing user?

Create a standalone device to give a user an additional phone for their current line, perhaps for their home office.

You must have admin or super admin permissions.
Note: All devices must have a user profile and at least one line assignment to provision and maintain registration.
Attention: This action creates a new billable device.
  1. Log in at https://my.jive.com/pbx.
  2. Click Devices in the left sidebar and then click Add Device.
  3. Enter a Name for the Device.
  4. Select the Assigned User.
  5. Click Admin Portal Checkmark Icon and then click the new device configure its settings.
  6. From Button Configuration, select Line for the Button Type.
  7. Edit the button Label.

    Note: The button label overrides the line name.

  8. Choose the user's Extension.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Power cycle the phone to apply the changes.
To bring your device to life, route a phone number to it or use it in a dial plan.
