Yealink W59R (Handset)

Quickstart

Learn how to do the most common functions on your phone. For information not covered below, please refer to the manufacturer’s user guide.

Pair Your Handset(s)

Pair your handsets to your base station.

This handset is compatible with the Yealink W60B base station.
  1. Press the Ok key.
  2. Select Settings > Registration > Register Handset.
  3. Select the Base.
  4. Press the Ok key and then enter the Pin0000 or 8647.
    Note: If the pin is not accepted or if registration fails, contact Customer Support for assistance.

Assign a Line to Your Handset(s)

Assign a unique line to each handset that is paired with this base station.

  1. Sign in to PBX Administration (classic) at https://my.jive.com/pbx.
  2. Click Devices in the left sidebar and then choose the Yealink W59R that requires additional lines.
  3. From Button Configuration, select Line and then choose the desired line.
    Repeat this step for each additional line.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Power cycle the base station to apply your changes.
  6. On the handset, press the Ok key.
  7. Select Status > System Status and then write down the phone’s IP Address.
  8. Open an incognito window in Google Chrome, enter the IP address in the address (URL) bar and then press enter on your keyboard. If the web UI doesn't load, enter https:// before the phone’s IP address.
  9. Enter your Device Admin Password.
    Tip: To find your password, log in at https://my.jive.com/pbx and then click Security in the left sidebar.
  10. Go to Account > Number Assignment.
  11. From Incoming Line, assign a Line No. to each Handset No.
    This will be the line used for inbound calls.
  12. From Outgoing Lines, assign a Line No. to each handset.
    This will be the line used for outbound calls.
  13. Click Save.
  14. Power cycle the base station to apply your changes.

Call Forwarding

Automatically forward incoming calls to an internal extension or external number.

  1. Press the OK key.
  2. Select Call Features > Call Forward.
  3. Select your desired forwarding type.
    • Always: Forwards all incoming calls.
    • No Answer: Forwards all unanswered incoming calls.
    • Busy: Forwards all incoming calls while you're in a call.
      Note: Call waiting must be disabled to use call forward busy (Menu > Features > Call Waiting).
  4. Dial the forwarding destination (internal extension or external number).
  5. If you selectedNo Answer, enter how many rings to wait before forwarding.
  6. Press the Save softkey.
What to do next: To disable call forwarding, disable the forwarding type.

Do Not Disturb (DND)

Stop your phone from ringing and send all incoming calls directly to voicemail.

  1. Press the OK key.
  2. Select Call Features > Do Not Disturb.
  3. Use the left/right arrow keys to enable.
  4. Press the OK key.
What to do next: Repeat the above steps to disable.

Voicemail Access

Check your voicemail from your phone.

  1. Dial *99.
  2. Dial your password (default 0000).

Speed Dial

Assign regularly dialed numbers to additional line keys on your phone.

Before you begin: This phone does not support this feature.

3-Way Calls

Speak with two parties simultaneously by creating a mini-conference call on your line.

  1. While on an active call, press the Options softkey.
  2. Select Conference.
  3. Dial the internal extension or external number to add to the conference.
  4. Wait for the second party to answer, and then let them know that you would like to add them to a 3-way call.
  5. Press the Conf softkey.

Transfer A Call

Warm Transfer

Place a current call on hold and speak with the destination party before transferring the call.

  1. While on an active call, press the Options softkey.
  2. Select Transfer.
  3. Dial the transfer destination (internal extension or external number).
  4. Speak to the destination party.
    Tip: To cancel a warm transfer and go back to the original call, tap the End softkey.
  5. Press the Transfer softkey.

Blind Transfer

Transfer a call to another party without speaking to them first.

  1. While on an active call, press the Options softkey.
  2. Select Transfer.
  3. Dial the transfer destination (internal extension or external number).
    Tip: To transfer a call directly to voicemail, dial 0 + extension.
  4. Press the Transfer softkey before the call dials out.

Hold

Place a call on hold while you take some time to look up an answer to a question or answer another call.

  1. Press the Options softkey.
  2. Select Hold.
  3. Press the Resume softkey to retrieve the call.

Modify Ringtone

Choose a new ringtone for your phone or assign a different ringtone to each of your lines.

  1. Press the OK key.
  2. Select Settings > Audio > Ring Tones > Melodies.
  3. If there are multiple lines assigned to your phone, select the line you wish to modify.
  4. Use the left/right arrow keys to select the desired ringtone (highlight to sample ringtones).
    Note: This phone does not support silent ringtones.
  5. Press the Save softkey.

Presence Monitoring

Visually monitor the speed dial contacts assigned to your phone to know whether or not they are on an active call. These line keys will light up (busy lamp field) indicating if someone is busy or available.

Provisioning

Before you begin:
  1. Verify you have created a device profile.
  2. Verify you have assigned the phone's MAC address to the device profile.
  3. Verify you have properly plugged in the phone.

From the Web UI

Learn how to provision your phone from the web UI.

You will use your handset to find the IP address, which will then be used to provision the base station.

  1. Press the OK softkey on your handset.
  2. Select Status > System Status and then write down the phone's IP Address (it may scroll to display the entire address).
  3. Open an incognito window in Google Chrome, enter the IP address in the address (URL) bar and then press enter on your keyboard. If the web UI doesn't load, enter https:// before the phone’s IP address.
  4. Enter your Device Admin Password.
    Tip:
    • To find your password, log in at https://my.jive.com/pbx and then click Security in the left sidebar.
    • The password may also be the default password, admin.
  5. Go to Settings > Auto Provision.
  6. Enter https://rtcprov.net/~[domain] for the Server URL.
    Note: Replace [domain] with your unique domain (found in parentheses at the top of the admin dashboard).
  7. Click Confirm > Autoprovision Now > Yes.
What to do next: If the phone doesn’t automatically reboot, power cycle the device to apply its provisioning settings.

Factory Reset

Factory resetting a phone is when you restore a device to its original factory settings. This will delete everything that was previously on the device.

  1. Press and hold down the OK button for 10 seconds.
  2. Press OK when it asks if you want to "Reset to Factory?".

    Result: The phone will automatically reboot.

Reset Secure Provisioning

After you factory reset a phone, you’ll need to reset secure provisioning from the admin portal so it can reconnect.

  1. Sign in to PBX Administration (classic) at https://my.jive.com/pbx.
  2. Click Devices in the left sidebar and then choose the device that needs secure provisioning reset.
  3. From Hardware > Reset Secure Provisioning, click Reset.
