Panasonic KX-TGP550 (Base)

    Quickstart

    Learn how to do the most common functions on your phone. For information not covered below, please refer to the manufacturer’s user guide.

    Pair your handsets to your base station.

    Up to six handsets can be paired with this base station.
    1. On the handset, press the Menu softkey.
    2. Select Initial Settings > Registration > Register Handset > OK.
    3. On the base station, hold the All key for four seconds. The handset will then register.
    What to do next: Outbound calls can be made from any line assigned to the base station by pressing the Lines softkey on the handset.

    Assign a unique line to each handset that is paired with this base station.

    1. Sign in to PBX Administration (classic) at https://my.jive.com/pbx.
    2. Click Devices in the left sidebar and then choose the Panasonic KX-TGP500 that requires additional lines.
    3. From Button Configuration, select Line and then choose the desired line.
      Repeat this step for each additional line.
    4. Click Save.
    5. Power cycle the base station to apply your changes.
    6. On the handset, press the Menu key.
    7. Select IP Service > Network Setting > Embedded Web to turn embedded web on.
    8. Press Save.
    9. On the handset, press the Menu key again.
    10. Select IP Service > Network Setting > IP Settings and then write down the phone’s IP Address.
    11. Open an incognito window in Google Chrome, enter the IP address in the address (URL) bar and then press enter on your keyboard. If the web UI doesn't load, enter https:// before the phone’s IP address.
    12. Enter admin for the username and adminpass for the password.
      Note: If this password is not accepted, contact Customer Support for assistance.
    13. From Telephone, assign a Handset No. to each Phone Number
      This will be the line used for inbound calls.
    14. Assign a Line No. to each Handset No..
      This will be the line used for outbound calls.
    15. Click Save.
    16. Power cycle the base station to apply your changes.

    Call Forwarding

    Automatically forward incoming calls to an internal extension or external number.

    1. Press Menu.
    2. Select IP service > Call features > Call forward.
    3. Select your desired forwarding type.
      • Unconditional: Forwards all incoming calls.
      • No Answer: Forwards all unanswered incoming calls.
      • Busy: Forwards all incoming calls while you're in a call.
    4. Select On/Off and then choose On.
    5. Press the Save softkey.
    6. Dial the forwarding destination (internal extension or external number).
    7. If you selected No Answer, enter how many rings to wait before forwarding.
    8. Press the Save softkey.
    What to do next: To disable call forwarding, turn the forwarding type Off.

    Do Not Disturb (DND)

    Stop your phone from ringing and send all incoming calls directly to voicemail.

    1. Press Menu.
    2. Select IP service > Call features > Do not disturb.
    3. Press the up arrow key to turn On/Off.
    4. Select Save.

    Voicemail Access

    Check your voicemail from your phone.

    1. Dial *99.
      Note: Dialing *99 eliminates the request to select a handset prior to connecting to the voicemail system.
    2. Dial your password (default 0000).

    Speed Dial

    Assign regularly dialed numbers to additional line keys on your phone.

    3-Way Calls

    Speak with two parties simultaneously by creating a mini-conference call on your line.

    Watch Video
    1. While on an active call, press the Menu key.
    2. Select Conference.
    3. Dial the internal extension or external number to add to the conference.
    4. Wait for the second party to answer, and then let them know that you would like to add them to a 3-way call.
    5. Press the Conf softkey.

    Transfer A Call

    Warm Transfer

    Place a current call on hold and speak with the destination party before transferring the call.

    1. While on an active call, press Menu > Transfer.
    2. Dial the transfer destination (internal extension or external number).
    3. Speak to the destination party.
    4. Press the Trans softkey.

    Blind Transfer

    Transfer a call to another party without speaking to them first.

    1. While on an active call, press Menu > Blind Transfer.
    2. Dial the transfer destination (internal extension or external number).
      Tip: To transfer a call directly to voicemail, dial 0 + extension.

    Hold

    Place a call on hold while you take some time to look up an answer to a question or answer another call.

    1. Press the Hold key.
    2. Press the Hold key again to retrieve the call.

    Modify Ringtone

    Choose a new ringtone for your phone or assign a different ringtone to each of your lines.

    1. Press the Menu key.
    2. Select Ringer settings > Ringer tone.
    3. If there are multiple lines assigned to your phone, select the line you wish to modify.
    4. Select the desired ringtone (highlight to sample ringtones).
    5. Press the Save softkey.
      Note: This phone does not support silent ringtones.

    Presence Monitoring

    Visually monitor the speed dial contacts assigned to your phone to know whether or not they are on an active call. These line keys will light up (busy lamp field) indicating if someone is busy or available.

    Provisioning

    From the Web UI

    Learn how to provision your phone from the web UI.

    1. Press the Menu softkey.
    2. Select IP Service > Network settings > Embedded web.
    3. Turn Embedded web off and then press the Save softkey.
    4. Turn Embedded web on and then press the Save softkey.
    5. Press the Back softkey, select Information Display, and then write down the phone's IP Address.
    6. Open an incognito window in Google Chrome, enter the IP address in the address (URL) bar and then press enter on your keyboard. If the web UI doesn't load, enter https:// before the phone’s IP address.
    7. Enter admin for the username and adminpass for the password.
    8. Go to Maintenance > Provisioning Maintenance.
    9. Enter the following settings:

      Note: Replace ‹domain› with your unique domain (found in parentheses at the top of the admin dashboard).
      Master File URL http://<domain>.onjive.com/p/master.cfg

      Cyclic Auto Resync Yes
      Resync Interval 1440
    10. Click Save > Reboot.
    What to do next: If the phone doesn’t automatically reboot, power cycle the device to apply its provisioning settings.

    Factory Reset

    Factory resetting a phone is when you restore a device to its original factory settings. This will delete everything that was previously on the device.

    1. Press the Menu button.
    2. Select IP Service > Network Setting > IP Setting to find the IP address.
    3. Open an incognito window in Google Chrome, enter the IP address in the address (URL) bar and then press enter on your keyboard. If the web UI doesn't load, enter https:// before the phone’s IP address.
      Note: If the phone is provisioned to onjive.com, the username is customerserviceid and the password is cspass. If this does not work, contact Customer Support for assistance.
    4. Select Maintenance > Reset to Defaults > Reset to Factory Defaults.

      Result: The phone will automatically reboot.
