Create a team chat

Create a team chat with other members in your organization to send chat messages.

Desktop app or web

  1. Sign in to the desktop or web app.
  2. From the left navigation menu, select Messaging > Create > Team chat.
  3. Enter the desired Name, and then select Create.
  4. To add members to the team chat at any time:
    1. Select Add User Icon.
    2. Search for and select members from the results. You can only add members from your organization.
    3. Select Add.
    4. To remove a member from the team chat, hover over the member's name in the right panel and then select the trash can icon.
  5. To send a message, type your new message at the bottom of the screen, and then press enter on your keyboard.
    Note: You cannot delete team chat messages.
  6. To leave a team chat, select the down arrow next to the team chat's name, and then select Leave team chat > Leave.
    Note: If you are the last person in the team chat, you will be prompted to delete the team chat.

Mobile app

  1. Sign in to the GoTo mobile app.
  2. Select Messages from the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select GoTo Mobile Add Icon and then select Create a private channel.
  4. Enter the channel's Name, and then select Create.
  5. To add members to the channel at any time:
    1. Select Info Icon and then select Add members.
    2. Search for and select members from the results. You can only add members from your organization.
    3. Select Done.
  6. To send a message, type your new message at the bottom of the screen and then select Send Icon.
    Note: You cannot delete channel messages.
  7. To leave a channel, select Info Icon > Leave channel > Leave.
    Note: If you are the last person in the channel, you will be prompted to delete the channel.
