    Quickstart

    Learn how to do the most common functions on your phone. For information not covered below, please refer to the manufacturer’s user guide.

    Call Forwarding

    Automatically forward incoming calls to an internal extension or external number.

    Watch Video
    Tip: If you need to forward a single call to your voicemail, press the Decline softkey while your phone rings.
    1. Press .
    2. Select User Preferences > Call Preferences.
    3. Highlight the desired forwarding type (make sure call forwarding is turned on).
      • Forward All: Forwards all incoming calls.
      • No Answer: Forwards all unanswered incoming calls.
      • Busy: Forwards all incoming calls while you're in a call.
    4. Dial the forwarding destination (internal extension or external number).
    5. If you selected No Answer , enter how many rings to wait before forwarding.
    6. Press the Set softkey.
    What to do next: To disable call forwarding, change the Call Forward Mode to Off.

    Do Not Disturb (DND)

    Stop your phone from ringing and send all incoming calls directly to voicemail.

    1. Press the softkey.
    2. Press the DND softkey to enable.
      Your phone logs any missed calls in your call history.
    What to do next: To disable DND, press Clr DND.

    Voicemail Access

    Check your voicemail from your phone.

    1. Dial *99.
    2. Dial your password (default 0000).

    Speed Dial

    Assign regularly dialed numbers to additional line keys on your phone.

    Before you begin: Please contact your system admin regarding your speed dial assignments.

    3-Way Calls

    Speak with two parties simultaneously by creating a mini-conference call on your line.

    Watch Video
    1. While on an active call, press .
    2. Dial the internal extension or external number to add to the conference.
    3. Wait for the second party to answer, and then let them know that you would like to add them to a 3-way call.
    4. Press again.

    Transfer A Call

    Warm Transfer

    Place a current call on hold and speak with the destination party before transferring the call.

    1. While on an active call, press .
    2. Dial the transfer destination (internal extension or external number).
    3. Speak to the destination party.
      Tip: To cancel a warm transfer and go back to the original call, look for the Cancel or EndCall softkey
    4. Press again.

    Blind Transfer

    Transfer a call to another party without speaking to them first.

    1. While on an active call, press the softkey.
    2. Select the blindxfer softkey.
    3. Dial the transfer destination (internal extension or external number).
      Tip: To transfer a call directly to voicemail, dial 0 + extension.

    Hold

    Place a call on hold while you take some time to look up an answer to a question or answer another call.

    1. Press .
    2. Press the Line key to retrieve the call.

    Modify Ringtone

    Choose a new ringtone for your phone or assign a different ringtone to each of your lines.

    2. Select User Preferences > Audio preferences.
    3. If there are multiple lines assigned to your phone, select the line you wish to modify.
    4. Select the desired ringtone (press Play to sample ringtones).
      Note: This phone supports silent ringtones.
    5. Press the Select softkey.

    Customize Wallpaper

    Personalize your phone by adding a custom wallpaper.

    1. Press .
    2. Select Status > Network Status > IP Address and then write down the phone’s IP Address.
    3. Open an incognito window in Google Chrome, enter the IP address in the address (URL) bar and then press enter on your keyboard. If the web UI doesn't load, enter https:// before the phone’s IP address.
    4. Click Admin Login > advanced.
      Note: If you are prompted to enter a password, contact Customer Support for assistance.
    5. Select Voice > User.
    6. Enter the following xcreen settings:
      Option Description
      Boot Display Download Picture
      Phone Background Download Picture
      Picture Download URL Enter the picture URL.
      Tip: If you don’t have the picture URL, right-click the image within Google Chrome and then select Copy Image Address.
      Required File Type
      • .PNG
      • 800 x 480 or smaller
      Note: The image file must be hosted online and have its own URL (i.e. it cannot be stored on the phone or uploaded to the Web UI).
    7. Click Submit All Changes.
    8. Power cycle the base station to apply your changes.

    Presence Monitoring

    Visually monitor the speed dial contacts assigned to your phone to know whether or not they are on an active call. These line keys will light up (busy lamp field) indicating if someone is busy or available.

    • To presence monitor, a system admin must enable this feature on your phone.
    • The lines you want to presence monitor must be speed dial assignments on your phone.
    • The number of contacts you can presence monitor is limited the number of line keys on your phone.

    Provisioning

    Before you begin:
    1. Verify you have created a device profile.
    2. Verify you have assigned the phone's MAC address to the device profile.
    3. Verify you have properly plugged in the phone.

    From the Phone Menu

    Learn how to provision your phone from the phone menu.

    Note: If you are prompted to enter a User password after booting up the phone, select Skip to proceed.
    1. Press .
    2. Select Device administration > Profile rule.
    3. Enter http://‹domain›.onjive.com/p/$MA for the Profile Rule.
      Note: Replace ‹domain› with your unique domain. PBX Administration (classic) users will find their domain in the parentheses at the top of their portal dashboard. portal users will find their domain in Account Settings.
    4. Press Resync.
    What to do next: If the phone doesn’t automatically reboot, power cycle the device to apply its provisioning settings.

    From the Web UI

    Learn how to provision your phone from the web UI.

    1. Press .
    2. Select Status > Network status and then write down the phone's IP Address.
    3. Open an incognito window in Google Chrome, enter the IP address in the address (URL) bar and then press enter on your keyboard. If the web UI doesn't load, enter https:// before the phone’s IP address.
    4. Click Admin Login > advanced.
    5. If you're prompted to enter a password, enter your Device Admin Password.
      Tip: To find your password, log in at https://my.jive.com/pbx and then click Security in the left sidebar.
    6. Go to Voice > Provisioning.
    7. Enter the following Configuration Profile settings:
      Option Description
      Provision Enable Yes
      Profile Rule http://‹domain›.onjive.com/p/$MA
      Note: Replace ‹domain› with your unique domain. PBX Administration (classic) users will find their domain in the parentheses at the top of their portal dashboard. portal users will find their domain in Account Settings.
    8. Click Submit All Changes.
    What to do next: If the phone doesn’t automatically reboot, power cycle the device to apply its provisioning settings.

    Factory Reset

    Factory resetting a phone is when you restore a device to its original factory settings. This will delete everything that was previously on the device.

    1. Press the Settings button.
    2. Select Device Administration > Factory Reset > Ok.

      Result: The phone will automatically reboot.

    Reset Secure Provisioning

    After you factory reset a phone, you’ll need to reset secure provisioning from the admin portal so it can reconnect.

    1. Sign in to PBX Administration (classic) at https://my.jive.com/pbx.
    2. Click Devices in the left sidebar and then choose the device that needs secure provisioning reset.
    3. From Hardware > Reset Secure Provisioning, click Reset.
